Why is it that bad habits are so hard to break? They entice you and once you are caught in their tentacles, they hold fast and are difficult to break from. Believe me, I had several of them and they kept me attracted to worldly pleasures, fuelled by feelings of pride, greed and anger.
When I first began listening to the Upasana program, although a believer, I was far from being a true Christian. I was unworthy of being called a child of God. I couldn’t seem to do anything about it though I was aware of my unsound behavior. I believe it was God who eventually sent my friend to me. He suggested that I listen to the TWR program and he guaranteed that I would notice changes in my life if I did so.
That’s when I began listening to Upasana in earnest. I understood that Jesus could forgive our sins. As I began praying to Him regularly, my faith and confidence in Him increased. Not only was I strengthened to abstain from my vices, I also felt free from the bondage of sin. I repented and I received forgiveness.
One night as I listened to a Bible study from the book of Romans chapter 12, God directly spoke to me. He touched my heart, assuring me that I need not fear anything as He is with me always. He strengthened me and what a transformation it was, to my life. The incident was so very moving that tears literally ran down my cheeks, uncontrollably.
Then and there I took a decision to grow in the Lord, walk in His path and serve Him, all the days of my life. As a result, today I am an evangelist and my mission remains to share the good news in the villages. One of the verses I often refer to is 1 John 2: 15-17 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world – the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions – is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” I want to thank the Upasana program for all the wonderful things it has done to my life.
